STAYING SAFE ON THE ROAD IN THE FUTURE

With the increase in vehicle networking, eMobility and autonomous driving, new issues that present a safety risk for people, the environment and vehicles are coming into focus. As a long-standing engineering service provider serving the worldwide automotive industry, we have for many years been involved in matters of functional safety and the growing challenges posed by issues such as high voltage safety, safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF) and cyber security.

TOGETHER WE CREATE SAFETY

The department, which was founded at the end of 2018, now has more than 50 employees in Weinheim alone, and the trend is continuing to rise sharply. Our diverse team of experienced professionals, graduates and students deal with the topic of how to protect modern vehicles against faults in the electrical and electronic systems on a daily basis.

THREE KEY REASONS
FOR A JOB IN FUNCTIONAL SAFETY:

YOU WILL ENJOY A UNIQUE TRAINING PROGRAMME.

You have a degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, physics with a specialisation in electrics / electronics or a comparable qualification and we will support you in further training in the area of functional safety.

We pursue a self-developed, well-proven training concept for our personnel qualification, for which we practice a continuous improvement process. The basis of the concept is a dual learning approach in which we link theoretical basics with practical elements and give a lot of space to the most important aspect, learning on the job. We divide the broad field of functional safety into individual focal points, for which an experienced colleague is always available for each new employee to pass on his or her knowledge as a "coach". Our team thrives on the constant exchange of knowledge and the urge to develop a little further every day.

YOU ARE PART OF AN ISSUE THAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SURVIVAL.

Working with you, we ensure that people and the environment are protected, and that the dangers for technical components in your vehicle are limited.

Increasing automation is making hardware and software development more and more important. Today, cars are often referred to as "moving computers" - which is an obvious comparison given the more than 100 control units installed in the average car. A PC - be it professional or private - sometimes crashes, accidentally deletes data or freezes. Almost all of us are familiar with these annoying situations. But imagine one of these situations happening to a car that is currently moving - the consequences would be fatal.

  • The flexible and highly motivated team from Weinheim analyses potential risks from electric-electronic systems and develops concepts and solutions to make electrically based vehicle systems as safe as possible. This concerns both innovative approaches for proven vehicle systems such as brakes, drive and steering, as well as novel driver assistance systems in the development towards autonomous driving vehicles. The team accompanies the complete vehicle development from the idea to the realisation. The progressive electrification and automation of vehicle systems allows the team to gain insights into a wide range of vehicle systems, so that from steer by wire to the mood-based adjustment of music and lighting in the vehicle interior, a new challenge awaits the employees every day.

"TEAM" FACTOR

Of course, with such a responsible task, the fun at work must not be neglected, but the dynamic team in Weinheim takes care of that itself: Besides interesting projects and exciting technologies, the security experts also spend time together after work. Be it joint sports activities or a cosy after-work beer - there is something for everyone here. The result of this team spirit is an unparalleled level of camaraderie. A solidarity that will continue to play an important role in the future, because there is no end in sight to the growing trend of the competence centre. Be inspired by Steffi and Chris.
